Competitions and handicaps

What does golf competition software need to do?

It has to run the formats a club actually plays, take cards as they are made rather than after the round, and put a live leaderboard where the members and the clubhouse can see it. Then it has to close the competition and send handicap indexes back to WHS without anybody re-keying a card.

The facts

  • Medal, Stableford, matchplay, Texas scramble and other formats.
  • Hole-by-hole live scoring from phone or watch, with automatic score submission.
  • Live leaderboards on clubhouse screens, online and in-app.
  • PCC adjustment and handicap index sync to WHS.
  • Knockout draws, team events, order of merit, eclectic, live cards, countbacks and pace heatmaps.

How Paralo does it

Cards arrive hole by hole from the phone or the watch, the board splits ties on the last nine, and handicap indexes sync to WHS when the competition closes. The same board is on the clubhouse screen, in the app and on the club's website, because it is the same data.
