How do golf club ballots work?

A ballot allocates places in an oversubscribed competition by draw rather than by who reached the phone first: entries open, entries close, places are drawn, reserves offered in order. In Paralo the ballot is a prototype Studio, so a rule can be written and read but no draw engine runs behind it yet.

• The tee sheet's shipping feature is ballot and lottery allocation for competitions and opens.
• In the Ballot Studio the rule is written as one sentence rather than a settings form.
• A month is painted with rules and competitions: pick a rule, tap the days and competitions it applies to, tap again to clear.
• A tee-time rule cannot be painted onto a competition, and the calendar refuses rather than allowing it.
• The Studio is a cleared prototype surface. There is no shipped draw engine behind it.

How Paralo does it

The point of the Studio is that a ballot rule is a sentence a member can read, not a table only the office understands. Fairness that cannot be explained is not much use to a committee, and a draw nobody can follow is worse than the scramble it replaced.
